What is La Fonda Foundation?
New Mexico has much to be proud of…plentiful assets, exceptional culture and history, resilient and self-reliant people, and a robust philanthropic community. There is much to improve as New Mexico experiences increasing income disparity and ranks poorly on many key social metrics countrywide.
La Fonda Hotel represents over 100 years of culture and community in Northern New Mexico. The microcosm of Hotel employees and their families is a proxy for many in New Mexico. The goal of La Fonda Foundation focuses on increasing social mobility and driving systemic change, first for those affiliated with the hotel, then expanding to include others in the community. By working with other local philanthropic organizations and adding complementary services we plan to move the needle and make a difference. We need your help.
The Core Values of La Fonda Foundation are:
- We will be led by data and not sentiment;
- We will be an organization of community partners, a foundation that does not need credit or publicity for our work; and
- We will be an entrepreneurial organization, willing to take risks, knowing that we will fail from time to time but we will learn from our mistakes and learn how to serve our constituents better.
