“ "Fantastic Hotel!" ”

"My husband and I, along with our 16-year old son, stayed here for 3 nights. The location and parking garage were situated in a great area of town. We were able to easily walk around the square and were close enough to Canyon Road. Probably could have walked there, but we drove since it was a bit chilly out. Our room was quite large and the pull out sofa made a great place for our son to sleep. It is almost like he had a separate room. I liked that water was replaced in the fridge and it helped us deal with slight altitude sickness/headaches. The food in the restaurant hotel was amazing. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Loved the Christmas chile. There is nothing I could have wanted that wasn't thought of at this hotel." Orlando, FL, Traveled as a family

"Such a beautiful hotel filled with original artworks and gorgeous inspirations! The history is as intriguing as the one-of-a-kind works of art adorning the rooms and corridors. Location was equally amazing, set between the St. Francis Cathedral and the Loretto Chapel, with the Plaza Market within steps of the hotel's front door. Couldn't recommend La Fonda more highly!

"I had the pleasure of staying in this lovely hotel over the weekend; I cannot say enough positive things about my experience! First, this hotel is so professionally run. The staff is so very friendly and welcoming. When I called the hotel to inquire about their pet policy, the concierge was so kind and informative. Did not even realize that well behaved pets were welcome at this beautiful property. It is a warm and welcoming environment with beautiful fireplaces burning throughout the property. There are staff thoughtfully placed and always available to assist the guest, whether it be in the parking garage area or the information desk. The rooms are very well appointed and well-kept. Very professional and efficient housekeeping staff! Thank you for making our stay so very lovely! Look forward to visiting again in the summer." New Orleans, LA

"My partner and I stayed at La Fonda for three nights and I enjoyed our time as much or more than any other hotel stay. The staff was helpful and friendly, from the concierge to the parking attendant. The food at La Plazuela, the restaurant, was excellent. And it was fun just to wander around the halls and look at the art. Even the hotel gift shop was fun. Maybe it was just my imagination, but I would swear I spent three whole days there without seeing anyone on his or her cell phone. I like to imagine there was just too much art and people watching all around to be distracted by anything else. “ "Great value at every turn" ”

"Given the abundance of hotels in Santa Fe, La Fonda stands apart because of its great value, location and gorgeous decor. We arrived on a Sunday for a 3-night stay and were pleased to receive a complimentary upgrade to a one-bedroom suite (room 517) with fireplace and balcony. We arrived our room and, within 1 hour, had a roaring fire and complimentary hot chocolate in hand. The elevators were efficient, but we often took the stairs, which treated us to a view of antique furniture and traditional art on each floor. The location couldn't be more perfect, and the easy in-and-out parking garage gave us the freedom to go further afield on a whim. All in all, it was an outstanding experience and at a great value. We'll be back." Austin, TX ,

"This place oozes old southwest character and since their major renovation a few years back it is a top notch place to stay. The architecture and artifacts are awesome. The restaurants and attached shops like the bakery are really convenient and delicious. The plaza is an awesome location too. It is an annual for us now"

“ Love the Remodel and the Food ”

La Fonda recently updated many things in their hotel, and did a fantastic job. It's difficult with a place so rich in history to bring it into modern times, while still maintaining such a loved culture. I honestly think what they've done has only improved the hotel tremendously. The new bar is beautiful. Not as dark and dungeon-like as it was before. The new U-shaped bar is one of my favorite additions, a real blast from the past from the original lounge which also featured a U-shaped bar. The new seating is one of the few "trendy" things they've added. If you're a local to Santa Fe, you'd know there's not much nightlife for the 20-30 somethings- I feel like those changes make it much more inviting to a younger crowd. Very smart, as it opens the bar up to a larger audience. You can see how the remodel has affected the employees as well. Everyone is all smiles, even more friendly than they were before. And the food is STILL delicious, which isn't surprising (c'mon, what do you expect from La Fonda?) Those in charge at La Fonda have truly done a fine job, and should be even more proud that they've kept- and even improved upon- the charm that has kept people coming back for years. BRAVO.

“ Best Location in Santa Fe ”

Step into the Old West from the best location in Santa Fe. Totally renovated to its 1920 origins, the lobby, La Plazuela Restaurant and the rooms were great. We were there for a special birthday for my wife and were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of wine, a box of chocolates and homemade anise cookies in our room, compliments of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the birthday dinner in the atrium-lit restaurant with original chandeliers, classic fabric on the heavy wooden chairs and benches and beautiful painted windows. Santa Fe itself is a charming destination and La Fonda is the best place from which to enjoy it.

“ Santa Fe vibe in a great location ”

This is an excellent choice for a hotel in Santa Fe. As far as we were concerned we received 5 star treatment without 5 star prices. The hotel staff are all extremely friendly (mind you most everyone in New Mexico seems friendly). The location is great, with many sites, shopping, etc within walking or a very short drive. The hotel has the convenience of a parking garage as well. The restaurant is very good (we ate dinner there twice. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Santa Fe.

“ Absolutely Perfect ”

"Amazing hotel, steeped in history and Santa Fe style and charm. We had a suite on the top floor, overlooking the Loretto Chapel. The room was spacious, with a fireplace and a small terrace, and was very comfortable. One of the hotels restaurants, La Plazuela, is gorgeous, and although indoors, has an outdoor garden feel with trees and twinkle lights. Breathtaking! Nice rooftop bar for watching the sunset, but get there early to get a seat, because it's popular and not a big space. They have a pool and the location is ideal, directly on the Plaza and within walking distance to just about everything. Reasonably priced for all you get plus the prime location. It's not often that a hotel exceeds your expectations, but we were so glad we picked La Fonda! August 2015

“ 5 Stars All Around ”

"I just recently stayed at the La Fonda for my wedding. 1) I visited most of the "top rated" hotels in Santa Fe and La Fonda was the winner all because of Samie Doerfler. Not only was the La Terraza breath taking, Samie was the one who sold me. She made sure that my reception was everything I could have imagined. She was very helpful on recommending different vendors to use. On the day of the wedding, she made sure that I didn't have a worry in the world! (what else could I have asked for?!) 2) The food at the La Fonda is some of the best in Santa Fe. My husband and guests all agree that the breakfast at the La Plazuela is by far the best breakfast in town. As far as the reception dinner went, the steak was melt in the your mouth and the drinks were awesome! 3) If you're considering a reception or wedding in Santa Fe, go with the La Fonda and Samie Doerfler!"  Jenna & Cody, Dallas, TX
