Our Centennial Package includes a walking tour that explores the legendary history of the “Inn at the End of The Trail.”

The walking tour will take you to the upper city section of the Old Santa Fe Trail so you can enjoy a walk down to the Plaza at the center of town, just like families traveling the original Santa Fe Trail & Route 66 experienced as they entered the ancient city.  You will pass through the Barrio de Analco, the oldest neighborhood in Santa Fe, with the oldest house and oldest church, San Miguel Chapel.  Then you cross the Santa Fe River and into the heart of town past the famous Loretto Chapel and, finally, arrive at the La Fonda, at the end of the trail.

Added features pointed out on the tour include the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, Santa Fe’s Bridge of Spies, the city office of the Manhattan Atomic Project, the New Mexico State capitol building and the city’s art center, Canyon Road.

Of special interest will be stories of the original Inn, the Exchange Hotel, which stood on the same corner as today’s La Fonda where southwest hospitality originated.

Tours begin at 10:30 am from the hotel lobby.  Please make your reservation with Sita at: 505-577-7645.
