La Fonda Congratulates International Folk Art Market on 10th Anniversary

Quickly becoming a tried and true New Mexico tradition, the 10th Annual Santa Fe International Folk Art Market is just around the corner. This vast and colorful international bazaar is the largest event of its kind in the world. Over 190 artisans from 60 countries will converge on Museum Hill July 12th-14th to offer their handmade treasures.

La Fonda on the Plaza is a proud sponsor of this annual event. I love attending – each year I gain a fresh perspective on our rich global community and the wealth of talent present the world over. Not to mention the goods! A three-foot tall African woven basket, an elaborate telephone wire basket, and a gorgeous Indonesian table runner – all purchased at the market – are on display in my home.

This event offers a rare opportunity to meet Maasai beaders, wood carvers from Uzbekistan, and Peruvian retablo artists in just one afternoon! It’s a visually stunning display of artistry that shouldn’t be missed!
