A Delicious Time of Year – Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta

It’s that time of year when chile addicts and oenophiles descend upon Santa Fe for the Santa Fe Wine and Chile Fiesta – a week-long celebration of  food and wine events that has put Santa Fe on the map as one of the world’s finest culinary destinations. The feasting and wine tasting is non-stop and delicious. La Fonda is a hub for fiesta activities, hosting the hospitality desk and greeting visitors from around the world. But, did you know that our hard-working hospitality industry takes a brief break to enjoy its own special event? The Wine and Chile Fiesta committee graciously hosted all of us at the Governor’s Mansion on Thursday evening – a moment where we all came together to celebrate the season before rushing off to our own events and properties to serve up exquisite dinners for fiesta guests. I’ve put together a few photos from the event I thought you would enjoy.  After making merry at the mansion… it was off to La Fonda for our own Wine Maker’s Dinner with Merryvale Vineyards. I’ve included the menu from our event… to tempt your tastebuds in hopes you’ll join us next year!

I had to look up ‘oenophilia’ and learned that the word was invented in 1977. Thanks, Jenny , for the lovely photos. The menu was fit for a queen. Penina

    Jenny,

Beautiful photos and stimulating comments as well as a delicious tempting menu with pairings.
Wish I could have been there or can join you in the future instead of sitting in the rain in Dallas watching the Mustangs lose to TCU.

    Miss you,
    Debbie

I heard our Mustangs lost (but at least it was to a good team this time for a change!). When are you coming to Santa Fe to visit? You would love it here. The aspens are bright almost blinding yellow right now. Truly amazing!
